Kitchens "I would like to
give my kitchen a facelift. My cabinets are fairly new so I would
not need to replace them. Where should I start?" "I am looking into renovating our kitchen this year. This is the
first major renovation we will be doing since we have purchased
our home, so we are a little unsure of where to begin. We talked
to a few neighbors that recently remodeled, and everyone seems
to have a different opinion. What would you recommend?" "I have a small townhouse that unfortunately does not have an eat
in kitchen. I like to entertain and find that my guests have
to balance their plates on their laps. I would love to get a
dining area integrated into my home somehow. What ideas do you
have?" "I purchased a new home that has the builder's grade light fixtures
and I am looking to replace them. I'm just overwhelmed by the choices
out there and I want to make sure I am making the right decision.
What are some issues I wil encounter and what should I keep in
mind as I begin to look?" "I'd like to know if you have a design pet peeve?" "People are often eager to know what are the "latest" color
and furnishings trends. What is your feeling on trends and how
can I create an interior that is up-to-date but classic? Thank
you." "Now that we are empty nesters, we have been thinking of
doing a renovation and some upgrades on our home. We want it functional
for us now but think about resale later. What would you recommend
for us to think about as we consider any changes?" "I have been working a lot from home and taking advantage
of flex time that is offered by my company. I have never had a
true "spot" for me to call my home office. As I explore different
spaces in my home do you have any tips or things I should consider
when planning this space?" Ceilings "What is one of
your favorite design details in a home? How would you make the
most of that area?" Doors "A good quality door is an important investment not only
for the front door of the home but for interior doors as well.
Adding value and substance to the home can be achieved by replacing
hollow core doors with solid wood or other solid materials such
as metal or MDF. " |
Children's Bedroom "My daughter is
10 years old and has interest in re-decorating her bedroom. She has
a lot of interests and can't seem to focus and I do not know where
to start. I do not want to invest in a change that she may not be
happy with in a couple of years. Any tips as we start the process?
Thanks." TV Location "My husband and
I are on a different page when it comes to the Hi tech equipment
that we have in the house. Recently he told me he wants to buy a
Plasma TV for our Living Room and I am against it. Do you have any
ideas how we could come to some sort of compromise?" Cleaners "We will be moving into a new
home in a month and, unlike the home I live in now, the surfaces
on the walls and floors range from marble, granite, wood and tile.
I am at a loss on how to clean all of these surfaces and not harm
them in any way. Is there a cleaner out there that I can use from
surface to surface?" Colors Selecting the right
color scheme for a room or a house doesn't have to be confusing
or overwhelming. Think of it as a great challenge. With the right
tools and a bit of intuition you can make it happen, defining a
beautiful interior for your space. Basement Remodeling "What advice do
you have as I prepare to plan for my basement remodel?" Feng Shui "I hear alot about Feng Shui and really don't know what it
is all about. I am doing a spruce up in my bedroom and wondered
if you could give me some ideas that I can use as I think about
my space." Layering Rugs "As luck would have it, I just had a new wall to wall carpet installed
in my family room and we now have a large ink stain that we only
made worse by trying to scrub it out. Help?" Window Treatments "We just moved into our new home last summer and love the
view and access from our kitchen slider door. I am at a loss on
how to treat that 'window' because we do need to use the door and
my husband is opposed to fabric because he thinks it will be in
the way. With the heat and the glare at certain times of the day
I have to find a solution that works. Any ideas? |
